The Inventory and Evaluation of Clinical Research Networks (IECRN) is funded by the NIH Roadmap for Medical Research. As a component of the Roadmap theme Reengineering the Clinical Research Enterprise, which seeks to enhance the efficiency and productivity of clinical research, the Inventory provides profiles of clinical research networks that meet the IECRN definition of a network. These networks have completed a Core survey, and have agreed to have their profile posted on the Inventory. The network profile is a summary of descriptive information about the network such as types of studies, funding source, participating entities and special populations. The Inventory data collection began in August 2005 and is ongoing as more networks are identified. If your network is not currently part of the Inventory, please visit for more information.
Network Searches
There are several ways to locate a network profile in the Inventory:
- to search the Inventory to find a network listed by name, sorted alphabetically.
- to find Inventory networks from a text search of all fields for a keyword or words. This search will find and report all items with an exact text match in any field.
- to find Inventory networks meeting specific criteria by selecting one or more search terms from specific fields. This search will look for terms and synonyms in the specific search fields you select.
A network search page is available that defines terms used in the searches and provides hints for searching. Please visit the page to provide comments and to request help for your specific searches.
